Roy first got his start in the business in 2008 while the real estate market was still reeling from the financial crisis.  At the time, Roy worked as a buyers agent with a company that specialized in foreclosures—a role that provided him with exposure to a wide range of different homes and neighborhoods, and allowed him to hone the skills that would eventually help him build his team. If you ask Roy how he has managed to enjoy so much success,  he will credit his constant availability and efforts to create long-lasting, personal friendships with his clients, as being some of the key drivers of his business. “I’m a 24/7 type of agent. I’m constantly responsive to my current clients, and most importantly they know me on a personal basis,” Roy explains. “A lot of agents like to keep their business and personal life separate, but for me real estate is personal. Every client I work with ends up becoming a new friend, and whatever money I make is secondary to doing right by them.” This approach has clearly worked well for Roy, as over 70% of his business comes from repeat clients or referrals.
